That is an excellent question that so many new providers have asked me over the years and one of the reasons I wrote a book to help new providers like you. Here is an excerpt from my book In Home Child Care Business, A Quick Start Guide:

“At this time you will want to relate your qualifications and experiences with them. Let them know why you are (or want to be) a child care provider and what your philosophies are. Tell them of the classes you have taken, your past child care jobs, or about your experience as a mom.”
